According to the American Public Health Association Public Health works to promote and protect the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work and play. People with disability are often left out of public health practices yet we know that individuals with disabilities are best served by public health when they are included in mainstream public health activities. While public health is an umbrella term that covers many things in this section we will focus on the inclusion of people with disability in public health programs in the areas of health, physical activity nutrition and wellness.

This training will discuss the fundamentals of a worksite wellness program that includes all employees, including those with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities.
